Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) is committed to providing affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing while promoting economic opportunities for families in the region. In order to achieve this we will:

- Promote crime-free housing
- Encourage and promote home ownership

ABOUT US
Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) is recognized by the State of Ohio as a political subdivision that functions as an Administrator of federal housing assistance programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). AMHA provides rental assistance to eligible low income families in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Putnam and Van Wert counties. Assistance is administered through our Public Housing and Section 8 programs. It is the policy of AMHA to house persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex, family status, handicap or national origin. AMHA is governed by a five member Board of Directors. Board members are appointed for five-year staggered terms. Board appointments are made by the City of Lima Mayor, Allen County Court of Common Pleas, the Allen County Probate Court, and the Board of Allen County Commissioners.
Today, AMHA owns 205 scattered site Public Housing units in Allen County in which low income families reside. AMHA also owns Furl Williams Apartments which provides housing assistance to 40 low income elderly or disabled families. Additionally, AMHA provides rental housing assistance to more than 1,000 families in the Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 program.
